Blog 3 ~ Knowing Five People With Six Words

Changed baby's diaper; changed mom's too.

I liked this one a lot. It gave the emotion of the hardships of having children. Not only that, but it also portrayed how you're a kid twice and an adult once. It was short and to the point but showed how this woman is taking on two roles.

He wrote love on my arm.

I liked this one a lot in particular. I felt the love that I have with my boyfriend Tyler. We “wrote love” on eachothers arms. We both went through depression and have hope and hope to give hope to other people that it will be ok.

My suicide note is 759 pages.

There was a hardship that just made my heart drop for this person. They’ve had to have a lot of deep hurt feelings in order to be able to write that much about wanting to die. There is a lot of build-up that people accumulate and it’s sad.

Write it... Crumple it.... swallow it....

This one made me think of someone who always wanted to say what they were feeling. However they always ended up totally getting rid of the idea and demolishing it. It was very powerful, and accentuated by the punctuation.

Grow up? Had too. Mom died.

Growing up is something that at times people are forced into. At any age events are presented which it is necessary to step up to the plate. To me it seemed like this person had to grow up after the tragic event of the loss of their mother.

Blog #2~ And the Ref calls GOALLLLL!

Psh improvement, no way my writing is perfect! Yeah no, no one's writing is perfect. Even our favorite published authors have editors to assist them. We all have room for improvement and should set goals to get to a better writing with baby steps. You just gotta take things "bird by bird" as said by Anne Lamott in her book Bird By Bird. In context she was just saying to take things one step at a time, to just WRITE. However “Just write” is not exactly good advice for people who do not like writing, so it is a good thing this is a writing blog. Two of my starting goals are variety and thoughtfulness. I love to write but doing new things is hard for me. My comfort level is at poems, short stories, lyrical pieces, and essays. However this needs to be expanded to scripts, novels, and etc. I actually am working on a novel. I have many ideas and thoughts floating around in my head so I put a bunch of them on paper. But it isn't as easy at it seems and I can't wrap my mind around which one I truly could run with. I think it's just time for me to sit down and write. Work on getting all of my thoughts together. I have really intense thoughts and I can't conceptualize it all onto the paper. Capturing voice and engaging the reader are something that I have to work on, and getting these thoughts into my head on paper is my goal.

Blog #1~ This is it Guys

My name is Jenny, my full name is irrelevant to you so frankly I'm not telling. I created this blog with my Creative Writing class and here is my first post. I will be posting about a variety of things and I hope you stick around with me, you're more than welcome to give me some feedback because who knows good writing better than my readers!? I have another blog on tumblr, but this one will be more focused upon my writing. Writing is ubiquitous, in fact I am doing it write now. To write in my mind is to be free. Many people turn to drugs or to alcohol, but not me folks I turn to my writing. Writing is one of my escapes. Other escapes are not limited to but include; horseback riding, swimming, hiking in Alaska, music, concerts, and man... could I go on! All of my escapes are portrayed in my writing, and no, not all at once. I love reading; science fiction, fantasy, nonfiction, fiction, romance (now that I'm not single I don't cry as much), adventure, mystery, historical fiction, and anything good I can get my hands on. I don't always have the time to read and write, but this year now that I have been accepted into all of my colleges WOOHOO! I am going to be doing a lot more of both. My writing strengths are poems and song lyrics, but I will try it all in this blog. So follow me if ya want too, and if not I wont know so no big deal.
