Psh improvement, no way my writing is perfect! Yeah no, no one's writing is perfect. Even our favorite published authors have editors to assist them. We all have room for improvement and should set goals to get to a better writing with baby steps. You just gotta take things "bird by bird" as said by Anne Lamott in her book Bird By Bird. In context she was just saying to take things one step at a time, to just WRITE. However “Just write” is not exactly good advice for people who do not like writing, so it is a good thing this is a writing blog. Two of my starting goals are variety and thoughtfulness. I love to write but doing new things is hard for me. My comfort level is at poems, short stories, lyrical pieces, and essays. However this needs to be expanded to scripts, novels, and etc. I actually am working on a novel. I have many ideas and thoughts floating around in my head so I put a bunch of them on paper. But it isn't as easy at it seems and I can't wrap my mind around which one I truly could run with. I think it's just time for me to sit down and write. Work on getting all of my thoughts together. I have really intense thoughts and I can't conceptualize it all onto the paper. Capturing voice and engaging the reader are something that I have to work on, and getting these thoughts into my head on paper is my goal.
